Expert predictions
Paolo Menicucci, Inter reporter
Predicting which Inter we will see is a spin of the wheel. The solid, authoritative team which won the first leg in Lisbon, or the team who lost at home to Monza four days later? The side who defeated the likes of Barcelona, Porto and Napoli this season, or the one who lost against Spezia and Empoli? Dr. Jekyll or Mr. Hyde? Will a full Meazza stadium and the prospect of a semi-final spot bring the best out of the Nerazzurri?
Luís Piedade, Benfica reporter
Benfica are going through a rough period – three straight defeats in all competitions – and are facing a true test of character here. The return from suspension of captain Nicolás Otamendi is a huge boost at the back, given the visitors must surely keep a clean sheet to stand a chance. They need goals regardless, so expect Roger Schmidt's team to go for it.
What the coaches say
Simone Inzaghi, Inter coach: "We're up against an outstanding side who, like us, haven't been getting the results they've deserved in their league of late. We know Benfica's strengths. We have a two-goal cushion but it will be hard for us. We have been up against very strong teams [recently]. As a striker, I worried when I wasn't getting chances. My boys have had chances; they just need to stay calm, wait for the moment."
Roger Schmidt, Benfica coach: "We have to accept last week's defeat and look forward. We have to be focused on what we have to do on the pitch, be motivated and with an open and clean mind to achieve a top performance. If we don't do it, we'll be out of the Champions League."
