Expert predictions
Phil Röber, Bayern reporter
Perhaps above all else, Bayern will need efficiency to have any shot at turning this around. So, essentially, they need to give Haaland a taste of his own medicine, given that there is arguably no one in Europe who scores so consistently from every half-chance. Bayern's attacking output is at least two levels below that at the moment. They have not managed more than one goal in any of their past four competitive matches and the last time they won by a three-goal margin was nearly two months ago.
Matthew Howarth, Man City reporter
There is little room for error for Guardiola's side in Munich, despite their healthy aggregate advantage. Bayern have endured a mixed start to life under Tuchel, but an early goal in front of their own supporters is all they need to set City nerves jangling. The visitors need to be prepared for a fast Bayern start and if they can come through those early stages unscathed, a last-four spot should be theirs.
What the coaches say
Thomas Tuchel, Bayern coach: "We believe in ourselves, and believe we can win this game. If we can win both halves then anything can happen, and we know that. We are obliged to get the crowd going, give them a spark and deliver a top performance. If we are smart in the duels and present, we can make special things happen, and we'll go from there."
Pep Guardiola, Man City coach: "We are focused on what we have to do to try to control the game. We are against one of the most prestigious teams in this competition. It is 11 against 11 and we will try to do better than the opponent in this specific game. It would be a mistake to focus on the past."
