What happened in the first leg?
Salzburg so nearly pulled off an almighty shock. Chikwubuike Adamu came off the bench to give the Austrian champions the lead midway through the first half and they stood firm until the final minute of the 90. Kingsley Coman was the man to break Salzburg hearts, though the tie remains evenly poised.

Bayern are in the driving seat in this tie but have been very much off pace in recent weeks, including during the reverse fixture in Salzburg. With just one clean sheet in their last seven matches, Julian Nagelsmann will be hoping the return of captain Manuel Neuer can provide some much-needed stability to a defence lacking in confidence of late.

Fresh from a straightforward 4-0 win against Altach on Saturday, Salzburg will travel with renewed confidence as well – and although their task in Germany will be huge, they look ready for anything as they dream of pulling off a sensational upset.

Salzburg will look to defend high up the pitch. They have had several players out recently, which has affected how they could train. They looked a bit tired towards the end of the last meeting, which means we will need to keep the tempo high."
