After following up the competition's first ever 8-2 win against Barcelona in the quarter-finals with a 3-0 victory over Lyon in the last four, Bayern set a new record for goals in a single UEFA Champions League campaign since the second group stage was replaced by knockout ties.
However, their 1-0 win in the final against Paris ultimately left them two goals short of the record set by Barcelona, in their 16-game run to the last four in 1999/2000.
Most goals in a single season
45 Barcelona, 1999/2000 (16 matches)
43 Bayern, 2019/20 (11)
41 Real Madrid, 2013/14 (13)
41 Liverpool, 2017/18 (13)
36 Real Madrid, 2016/17 (13)
The truncated nature of the 2019/20 season means that Bayern amassed their total in 11 matches rather than the usual 13, making theirs the best goals per game ratio in a single UEF Champions League season. Their 1-0 final win against Paris means they are also the first side to win 11 successive games in the UEFA Champions League.

3.15 Real Madrid, 2013/14
