FC Porto defender Carlos Secretário has been banned for three UEFA competition matches following his dismissal on Matchday Eleven against Panathinaikos FC.
Professional foul
The Portuguese international was sent off after a professional foul on Panathinaikos striker Emmanuel Olisadebe during Porto's 2-1 victory on Tuesday night. UEFA's Control and Disciplinary Body announced the suspension on Thursday although an appeal may be lodged by Sunday 17 March.
Ban carries over
Even if Porto exit the UEFA Champions League after next week's final second group stage matches, the 31-year-old will still be suspended for the first two games of Porto's next entry into European competition.
