Six-month contract
Khlestov has signed a six-month contract with an option for a further three years. Khlestov has been training with the club for around the month. FC Dinamo Moskva and FC Saturn Moskovskaya Oblast were also hoping to sign the former Russia international, but after defender Dmytro Parfionov suffered a heavy injury, Spartak moved quickly to land their former stalwart.
Glittering career
Khlestov is one of the most successful players in Spartak history. He started his career at the club at the age of 18, and spent 12 consecutive seasons there, winning eight Russian titles before joining Besiktas in 2000/01. Spartak have also signed Brazilian midfielder player Androsinho on a six-month deal with a three-year extension option.
