Anderlecht back in the big time

Wisla Kraków 0-1 RSC Anderlecht (Agg: 1-4) Aruna Dindane scores late on as Anderlecht win both legs.

Cautious start
Wisla, knowing that conceding an away goal would virtually end their chances, began in cautious mood and did not create a clear chance until the 19th minute when Jacek Paszulewicz flicked on a corner kick, only for Maciej Stolarczyk to head over the bar.

Dindane chance
Anderlecht were biding their time, but nearly scored two minutes before half-time as Aruna Dindane beat goalkeeper Adam Piekutowski only to have his shot blocked by defender Paszulewicz.

Brilliant save
After the break, Wisla had a spell of pressure with Tomasz Frankowski unlucky to be denied several times by the disciplined Anderlecht defence. On the hour, Cristino Pereira De Souza created Wisla's best chance as he threaded the ball through to Maciej Zurawski, only for his low shot from the edge of the box to be brilliantly saved by Daniel Zitka.

Anderlecht winner
That proved to be Wisla's last hurrah, as Anderlecht absorbed every attack, yet still managed to go close themselves when Dindane hit the bar after a Par Zetterberg cross. In the 84th minute, though, Dindane was on target as he dispossessed Mariusz Jop and tapped in from close range to extend Poland's run without a Champions League place to eight seasons.
