Hero Ignashevitch
Lokomotiv had overturned their 1-0 first-leg deficit but were poised to drop out of the competition on the away goals rule with the score at 2-2 on aggregate - then Dmitri Khokhlov was fouled in the area and Sergei Ignashevitch stepped up to stroke in the 86th-minute penalty, putting the Russian side into tomorrow's draw.
Ashvetia double
It seemed plain sailing for Yuri Semin's side once Mikheil Ashvetia had fired in a first-half double, pouncing on team-mate Maksim Buznikin's mis-kick on 20 minutes and opening the scoring, then heading in Dmitri Loskov's cross just before half-time. But when Aleksei Bakharev's looping corner was crashed into the Lokomotiv net by Mariusz Lewandowski on 71 minutes, the home supporters feared the worst.
Late drama
Lokomotiv goalkeeper Sergei I. Ovchinnikov blocked Aleksei Bakharev's late shot to keep the home side in contention and just as Shakhtar thought they had done enough, the last-gasp penalty sent Semin's side through.
