Queiroz puts team in place

Real Madrid CF coach Carlos Queiroz has named José Peseiro as his right-hand man.

Former pupil
Peseiro, who won CD Nacional promotion back to Portugal's top flight in 2002, joins Madrid as Quieroz's No2. He is a former pupil of Queiroz´s at Lisbon's Physical Education Institute and described the offer as "impossible to turn down".

'Impossible to ignore'
He added: "I am really happy to join this project and work with a friend like Queiroz. Although I had promised myself I would never be anybody's assistant, the opportunity to work with the best players in the world and with a teacher such as Carlos Queiroz was impossible to ignore."

Physical training
The other new face in the backroom staff, Di Salvo, joins Madrid from S.S. Lazio. Queiroz said: "I met Di Salvo several years ago because we were studying the same things about football. That's when our relationship started. I trust him to take charge of the physical training and look after possible injured players." Also in Queiroz's coaching team are goalkeeping coach Manolo Amieiro and technical coach Paco García Hernández.
