The 23-year-old full-back, whose contract was due to expire at the end of the current campaign, will stay with the UEFA Champions League contenders until June 2009. Negotiations had been ongoing since March but Mendy, capped three times by France, is thrilled to be staying at the Parc des Princes. "I've never hidden that Paris was in my heart," he said.
Brazil debut
Mendy, who came to PSG from SM Caen in 2000, was a key player in the club's French Cup triumph and second place in Ligue 1 last term. He made his international debut against Brazil last May but was sidelined with a fibula injury at the start of the season before recovering full fitness.
