The Portuguese UEFA Champions League participants have agreed a deal with Brazilian side Grêmio, under the terms of which they will purchase 70 per cent ownership of the 17-year-old. Anderson passed a medical this morning before signing for his new club, but no other details of the transfer were disclosed.
Burgeoning talent
Anderson, an attacking midfielder who has scored five goals for Grêmio in 2005, is considered one of Brazil's brightest young talents, earning comparisons with former Grêmio player Ronaldinho. Anderson, a product of Grêmio's youth system, will return to Brazil to rest before the start of the 2005/06 campaign.
Dutch influence
Porto finished runners-up in last season's SuperLiga after bowing out in the last 16 of the Champions League. They have since appointed Dutchman Co Adriaanse as coach following the departure of José Couceiro.
