Victory sealed
The Moldovan champions won 4-1 in Malta a week ago, and even the goalless scoreline at 78 minutes tonight would have been sufficient to earn a tie with FK Partizan, who played in the group stage two years ago. But Razvan Cocis then gave Sheriff the lead on the night and five minutes later Ben Idrissa Derme extended the aggregate lead to 6-1.
Belgrade trip
Sheriff now travel to Belgrade next week, before a return fixture at home on 2/3 August. Sliema, meanwhile, saw their tenth European Champion Clubs' Cup campaign ended.
