Zurawski excited at Celtic chance

Celtic FC have completed the €3.1m acquisition of Wisla Kraków's Polish international striker Maciej Zurawski.

'Very happy'
The 28-year-old leaves Wisla Kraków, the club he has helped to three successive Polish titles having scored 120 goals since joining from Lech Poznan in 1999. Zurawski said: "I am very happy. Celtic are a great club and have fantastic supporters. I am here to win the league and have a great adventure in the Champions League."

Strachan delight
Celtic manager Gordon Strachan added of a forward considered one of the best in the history of the Ekstraklasa: "We are delighted Maciej has signed for the club. This is something we have been working hard for over the last couple of weeks."

Early start
Celtic, European champions in 1967, start their Champions League campaign one stage earlier than Wisla, in the second qualifying round against either FC Kairat Almaty or FC Artmedia Bratislava, after being pipped to the Scottish title by Rangers FC. Zurawski, also linked with Turkish runners-up Trabzonspor, is the third Pole to play for Celtic following Dariusz Dziekanowski and Dariusz Wdowczyk.
