Defender Dennis Aogo has joined FC Schalke 04 on loan for the rest of the season from Hamburger SV.
"We are pleased that we were able to bring Dennis in," said Schalke sporting director Horst Heldt, whose club also have an option to buy the 26-year-old. "He can play at left-back and will train with the team for the first time [on Thursday]."
With Sead Kolasinac injured and Christian Fuchs suspended, Aogo could make his Schalke debut against Bayer 04 Leverkusen at the weekend. On the opening day of the Bundesliga season earlier this month Aogo came off the bench in HSV's 3-3 draw with his new employers.
The Royal Blues qualified for the UEFA Champions League group stage thanks to Tuesday's 3-2 win at PAOK FC and will be involved in Thursday's draw in Monaco.
