Real Madrid CF, Paris Saint-Germain FC and FC Bayern München maintained their perfect group stage records with victories on Wednesday.
PSG and Bayern racked up their second wins in style, triumphing 3-0 and 3-1 against SL Benfica and Manchester City FC respectively. Laurent Blanc's Ligue 1 title holders are now three points clear of Benfica and Olympiacos FC at the top of Group C. The Greek side also won 3-0, at RSC Anderlecht, thanks to a Kostas Mitroglou hat-trick.
Bayern, meanwhile, continue to look imperious as they bid to become the first team to retain the UEFA Champions League trophy. They have pulled three points ahead of City and PFC CSKA Moskva, who came from behind to prevail 3-2 against FC Viktoria Plzeň.
Real Madrid CF recorded the biggest victory of the evening, overcoming FC København 4-0 at the Santiago Bernabéu. That gives Carlo Ancelotti's men a four-point cushion at the Group B summit after a dramatic conclusion in Turin. Juventus appeared to have turned defeat into a 2-1 win against Galatasaray AŞ, but Umut Bulut's late leveller earned the Turkish outfit a point in Roberto Mancini's first game in charge.
Manchester United FC and FC Shakhtar Donetsk lead the way in Group A after sharing a 1-1 draw in Ukraine, though Bayer 04 Leverkusen are only a point behind in third. Sami Hyypiä's side seemed set to draw 1-1 with Real Sociedad de Fútbol until Jens Hegeler struck in the second minute of added time.
