Josep Guardiola, Bayern coach
We played well and created chances right from the start. In our last Bundesliga game we failed to create chances in the first 45 minutes. I have noticed that this competition is something very special for the club and the players. I am satisfied with the result and the performance. We have produced strong showings in our three games so far.

But we still need to improve in the Bundesliga. We still need time and I am sure we will continue to improve. I wanted Arjen Robben to take the penalty. I do not know why he did not want to take it. He has a strong personality. The team knows why I decided that Thomas Müller should take the penalty against Mainz last weekend.

Pavel Vrba, Plzeň coach
I don't know if I am the one to comment on this match – it should probably be the home coach. We played under tremendous pressure against a team that right now is probably the best in the world. I do not want to offer any excuses. Unfortunately even our attempts on the counterattack ended before their penalty area. Bayern were the significantly better side and if it was not for goalkeeper Matúš Kozáčik, the result would have been even crueller for us.

The giant difference between us and Bayern was clear during the game. We have players of a certain quality and they were contrasted with a team that is ruling football these days. Some of our players could have been involved more, but that also depends on the opponents and they simply did not allow it.

Our ceiling was probably qualifying for the group stage, which we managed well, but the difference between the top teams and the rest is great. We learned about it two years ago against Barcelona, when we had games which followed a similar pattern, especially the home match. It is simply difficult to play against such a strong team.
