I have congratulated my players – they are on their knees after putting in a huge effort. David Moyes congratulated me on our efforts after the game and I did the same with him. When the team give their all like that, you can only salute them. The point will help us get stronger, but we would have preferred to have played a little better. The first half was a tight affair while the second was more open.

We wanted to have a little more of the ball [after the break]. The players feel more comfortable when the pitch opens up more. Rubén [Pardo] is doing really well lately and is winning his opportunities [to play]. He tired a little late on, which is why we brought on Xabi Prieto.

As long as we are mathematically still in with a chance of getting through, we will go for it. We are now thinking about [our weekend trip to] Real Madrid, but in a short time we will travel to Ukraine [to play FC Shakhtar Donetsk].

David Moyes, United manager
We should have won – we had enough chances. We controlled the game and the team was on top for the majority. When Robin [van Persie] hit the post and then missed the penalty ... it happens, but not too often with Robin, thankfully.

We had a good chance to go clear in the group tonight and take three points, and we should have won. You need to take your chances and opportunities when they come. We missed them tonight, but we are still in a good position.
