Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal said it was an important day "for all the Chilean people in the world" after the first hat-trick of his career helped the Bianconeri beat FC København 3-1 to move second in UEFA Champions League Group B.

Antonio Conte's side now need a point in their last game at Galatasaray AŞ to secure qualification but Vidal said they will not play for a draw in Turkey, telling UEFA.com: "We will go there to win." Meanwhile, København midfielder Thomas Kristensen said his team could be satisfied with their defensive efforts in Turin, adding: "They had five chances and scored three goals."

Scoring three goals is a dream. Today is an important day for me but also for all the Chilean people in the world. The most important thing, however, is that we won and took another step towards qualification. This is a tough group but if we play at our level, we will be able to progress. Tonight we played well, with confidence, and in the end we managed to achieve what we wanted, three points.

The thing I do before taking penalties [asking the fans for more support] helps me acquire more confidence, so I feel more secure when I shoot. The third goal, the header, was great and very important for the team because it gave us the ability to see out the game without suffering too much. It's my first hat-trick, I'm very proud. Now we have a very difficult game [at Galatasaray] but we will go there and try to impose our own game. A point would be enough for us, but we will certainly play to win.

Now we regret the points we dropped at Copenhagen and against Galatasaray – we could have already qualified had we won one of those games. Today we played well, nothing exceptional, but we needed the points and we got them. We created fewer chances compared with the game in Denmark – they were more prepared to defend this time around and are always dangerous from set pieces because they are really strong physically. We did very well to react quickly after their equaliser but now we have to prepare for the most important game of all, in Istanbul. It will be difficult but we are happy to go there with destiny in our own hands.

Thomas Kristensen, København midfielder
We were a bit surprised Juventus were not pressing higher up the pitch, they were waiting a bit for us to come forward. The first half had virtually no chances for either team so we were a bit unlucky not to go into half-time level at 0-0. In the second half we did well to come back but after five minutes they got the second penalty and two minutes later it was 3-1 and the game was almost over.

It's difficult because Juventus are a strong team, but maybe we could have done better in midfield and defence. You can say we could have drawn, while Juventus should have won at Parken when they had a lot of chances, but again we can be satisfied that we didn't give them many chances. Even so, they had five and scored three goals, so of course it was not enough.

It's nice that we competed until the end of the group stage and hopefully we can have a good game at Parken [against Real Madrid CF], get the three points and finish third. I think Juventus are the strongest side but it's difficult at Galatasaray – the atmosphere there will make it a difficult game for them.

Ragnar Sigurdsson, København defender
We surprised some people because we came here and did not give Juventus many chances. We are not satisfied that we lost but if we look at the whole game then we did a pretty good job.

It didn't feel we lost our focus after equalising but then they got their second penalty. It all happened very quickly. In any case the game ended 3-1 and we are disappointed. This is the nicest stadium I have played in so it was a great experience and I'm very happy to have played 90 minutes.
