José Mourinho, Chelsea manager
It was a very good performance. We were very solid, very compact, and had no fears – a very good approach to the game. One-one is a difficult score, but our game was very solid. We were very confident and very much in control for the entire 90 minutes, which is difficult. We got a positive result in the first leg and in the second leg we finished the job.
The most difficult thing [for Didier Drogba] was the way his team played because if you are striker and the team is not there playing behind you, then you are a lonely man. It has happened to every striker in the world and tonight it happened to Didier. Gary [Cahill] and John [Terry] played a very good game. We controlled the match very well and you could never see Didier in a dangerous position.
All the big teams are there, all the big candidates to win the competition are there. We welcome any of them. It will be very important for the evolution of our team to play one of the best, so we wait for the draw.
Roberto Mancini, Galatasaray coach
The game was difficult. After we conceded after four minutes it was even more difficult, but this doesn't change the fact that we played really badly – we didn't deserve anything and Chelsea were much better.
It is difficult to say something about the game because I am very disappointed that we didn't play well. We didn't create chances. I am very sorry for our supporters tonight because they were the best players for us – I am very disappointed for them.
I don't know why, it is really difficult to explain. After the game in Istanbul I was confident we could play here and have a chance to score. Our football was totally different and if we want to play at this level we need to work more.
We prepared for this game. We started from 1-1 and it was really important to start this game and not concede a goal. Instead, we conceded after four minutes and that made it very difficult. We knew it would be a difficult game, but we knew we had a chance. I am very disappointed.
Now we have a championship to play for with another nine games. We need to try to recover and play to our best. We know we can improve.
