Nuno Gomes was the latest famous name to join the #allinucl final trophy tour as the UEFA Champions League silverware arrived in Lisbon.

The Estádio do Sport Lisboa e Benfica hosts this season's final and fans in the Portuguese capital have been able to get close to the trophy which either Real Madrid CF or Club Atlético de Madrid will lift on 24 May.

The adidas tour bus spent a few days driving around the city, with thousands turning out in the sunshine to catch a glimpse of European football's top club prize. On Saturday, ex-SL Benfica and Portugal striker Nuno Gomes came to greet fans, pose for photos and sign autographs.

"It's a source of pride for our city and our country to host a final like this," said the 37-year-old. "Being in the presence of the trophy from such an important final is good for everyone. To see it and to take a picture, it's the moment of a lifetime."

Gomes has former team-mates in the ranks of both finalists so is reluctant to pick a winner. "I played with Tiago, Fábio Coentrão, Cristiano Ronaldo and Pepe at Benfica or in the Portuguese national team," he explained. "They are excellent players, good colleagues and friends and that is why I don't pick a favourite."

The Lisbon leg of the UEFA Young Champions football event took place as well, with tickets up for grabs to the UEFA Champions League final for the most successful teams in the Under-12, U14 and U16 age groups as hundreds take part across Portugal. The #allinucl final trophy tour heads for a quick stop in Coimbra next before returning to Lisbon.
