As excitement builds ahead of the UEFA Champions League final in Lisbon, thousands of football fans across Portugal have been getting up close to the silverware which either Real Madrid CF or Club Atlético de Madrid will lift later this month.

The #allinucl final trophy tour with adidas started its journey around the country in sunny Porto last week, with special guest Vítor Baía on hand to pose for photos and sign autographs. The former Portugal goalkeeper was part of the FC Porto side that beat AS Monaco FC in the 2004 final and he was delighted to bring the cup back to the city a decade on.

"It has been extraordinary all over the country," Vítor Baía told UEFA.com. "In Lisbon, the show of affection from the fans was simply amazing and here in Porto I'm 'playing at home' so the reception couldn't really be better.

"Not everyone has the opportunity to win this cup," continued the 44-year-old. "It's one that every single player would like to win. I feel blessed to have had the chance to help capture it, especially because I was able to do so playing for the club of my heart, FC Porto."

Almost 3,000 people got on the tour bus to have their picture taken with the trophy during the week in Porto, and hundreds of children also participated in the Porto leg of the Young Champions grassroots football event in which players from the Under-12 to U16 age groups face off in a series of matches. The most successful teams qualify to play in the UEFA Champions Festival in Lisbon later this month, meeting sides from Brazil, Japan and North America. Tickets for the UEFA Champions League final at the Estádio do Sport Lisboa e Benfica are up for grabs for the eventual Young Champions winners.

The #allunucl final trophy tour next heads to Lisbon, before stopping off in Coimbra.
