I feel like a coach who has to fix things. This match comes at the right time to show a response and demonstrate what a good team we are. It's important to start this competition well. I think we will be competitive and we will try to win it again.

There is no debate about the goalkeepers in this team. I won't speak about that this season. We have new players like [Toni] Kroos and James [Rodríguez] and we have to get used to playing with them. We need maximum concentration because these spells are normal in football. We need more time to get our players into a better physical condition. We have a very good squad to be competitive in every competition.

[Iker] Casillas has a lot of experience and knows these kind of situations well. We have analysed together what is happening and it's a problem of continuity. We lose balance when we don't have control of the match. I wouldn't change my squad for any other in Europe, though. Fans watch what happens on the pitch. If we play well they support us and if we don't they ask for more. It's to be expected.

Basel are in good shape and last year they defeated Chelsea. The standard of Swiss football is improving and their national team has achieved good things.

We are starting a process and we are getting good results and some enjoyment from it. It's a positive style of football that we love to practise every day. We are coming here without any kind of complex and with courage and character.

Despite the size of a club like Real Madrid, bad results can happen. I am sure they will solve their problems, but I hope that doesn't happen tomorrow. We are always confident of improving. We analyse everything we do in order to get better. This is a different competition and we are facing a top-quality opponent. When you compete at this level you have the opportunity to grow. We want to be competitive and hopefully tomorrow we have a chance to win.

Playing against the best will enable us to reach another level. I need to adjust some things but we must also maintain our identity. We are focused on the game and all the players want to be involved. This is a fantastic opportunity to perform on this stage. We will enjoy it.

Yoichiro Kakitani has just arrived in Europe, in a different environment. We are helping him to integrate as quickly as possible. He is very good technically and we are looking at where and when he can help us. We are always trying to fine-tune our football.
