Lucescu stunned, Porto happy with just reward

While FC Shakhtar Donetsk coach Mircea Lucescu was almost stunned to silence, FC Porto's coach and match winner were more effusive after their remarkable escape act.

Jackson Martínez, Porto forward
The two goals were the result of work by the team. Two goals don't come when Jackson magically steps off the bench and scores. It's collective working well. The game was going well, but perhaps there was a need to finish our chances. I think the statistics show that we had more of the ball, but at times we gave it away too easily.

I didn't sign a contract thinking I would always be a regular starter, not at all. I think that when I signed I hoped I would play, but I think all my team-mates work to get that opportunity, and when the coach chooses a different option it will always be respected.

Mircea Lucescu, Shakhtar coach
I don't much want to talk. We were so happy before the end of the match, we were euphoric. And then we conceded two goals. We are very upset now. There's nothing more to say.

Julen Lopetegui, Porto coach
I'm delighted with our performance. If we play the same way going forwards we'll pick up a lot of points and qualify for the next stage. All our opponents are good teams. We need to win the next match, which will cement our position in the group. I think we deserved three points today, not just one. But if you make mistakes your opponents punish you.

Lopetegui pleased with Porto point

Yaroslav Rakitskiy, Shakhtar defender
We conceded two goals on the counterattack. It is our fault. For now all I can say is that it was great to play in Lviv, I'd like to thank the fans – locals and those who came from Donetsk. We will have two very important games against BATE where we'll play only for victory. We have to win if we want to qualify for the knockout stage.

Taras Stepanenko, Shakhtar midfielder
We lost concentration at the end. A team like Shakhtar must not make mistakes like that. We play in the Champions League every year, and these kinds of errors are unacceptable. After we scored the first goal we tried to control the game, but Porto have very good players. They had a lot of shots, but no real threat. It's a disgrace that we dropped points against opponents no better than us.

I want to thank the Lviv fans for their support. They supported us from the first minute to the last. We heard it and it motivated us and pressed the opponents. Shakhtar represent Donbas and the whole Ukraine. We really wanted to cheer them with a win. But our fate is still in our hands. I think everything will be good for us in the end.

Bruno Martins Indi, Porto defender
We played very well. We had a lot of possession, and Shakhtar scored two goals from our errors. But we remained confident and scored two goals in the final minutes. We deserved more as we had a lot of chances, but they have a good goalkeeper. They also had opportunities but I think we had more of the ball and were sharper. We deserved a win.
