Fresh from keeping FC Bayern München at bay in the round of 16 first leg in Ukraine, FC Shakhtar Donetsk defender Yaroslav Rakitskiy sat down with UEFA.com to answer your UEFA Champions League Facebook questions. From food to music via the best player in the world, Rakitskiy revealed all.
What is the key to beating Bayern?
Yaroslav Rakitskiy: We really played as a team in the first leg. It was our first competitive game of the year and we played very well. If we do the same in Munich, I think we'll go through.
Which is the toughest team you've ever played against?
Rakitskiy: It has to be Barcelona in 2011. Wow – that was a great team!
Who are the best player and coach in the world?
Rakitskiy: There are a lot of great players. I would give a special mention to Alex Teixeira from Shakhtar. He has developed greatly in recent years. And coach? Mister Lucescu of course!
What's your favourite food?
Rakitskiy: I like borsch, golubtsi and meatballs.
The best player you've ever played against?
Rakitskiy: That is an easy one – Lionel Messi. He is just great.
What is the best thing about playing for Shakhtar?
Rakitskiy: Shakhtar are my life. I started my footballing life here. I can talk forever about this club and what it is like to play in this team. But for now I will simply say that I love Shakhtar.
Of the countries that you've visited, which is your favourite?
Rakitskiy: I think I would have to say the Maldives. I have had some wonderful holidays there.
Favourite song?
Rakitskiy: My favourite song is one by my wife [Olga]. It will be released soon, then everyone will hear how great it is.
What other sports do you like playing?
Rakitskiy: Tennis, both lawn and on a table. I also like to play hockey – but without skates, only in shoes.
What is the most memorable goal you have scored?
Rakitskiy: I haven't scored many! I think it was the one against Tavriya Simferopol at Donbass Arena one or two years ago ...
What do you do before a game?
Rakitskiy: Nothing special really. Just stick to a simple, usual routine. The crucial thing is to pay attention and not to miss any of the pre-game team talk.
