The arduous task FC Shakhtar Donetsk face in overturning their four-goal UEFA Champions League quarter-final deficit against FC Barcelona has been made all the harder by an injury that has ruled Darijo Srna out of the second leg on Tuesday.
The Pitmen captain strained a thigh after coming on as a half-time substitute in his side's 1-0 Ukrainian Premier League defeat by FC Obolon Kyiv – Shakhtar's first home loss in all competitions since 22 October 2008 – and will be out of action for two weeks.
Srna, 28, has played every minute of his side's European campaign this season, most recently in the 5-1 defeat by Barcelona on Wednesday at the Camp Nou.
