Club Atlético de Madrid can count on the services of promising striker Léo Baptistão after the Brazilian agreed to a transfer from Rayo Vallecano de Madrid for an undisclosed fee.
The 20-year-old Italian passport holder – who arrives at the Vicente Calderón on a five-year deal – registered seven goals in 28 Liga appearances for Rayo who finished the recently concluded season in eighth place.
The São Paulo native began his career playing futsal alongside new FC Barcelona recruit Neymar at Santos FC before eventually joining Rayo's youth academy as a 16-year-old. On announcing the deal, a statement on Rayo's official website read: "We would like to thank Léo Baptistão for his professionalism and commitment during the years he spent wearing this club's colours. We wish him the best of luck both personally and professionally in this new stage of his career."
