Fenerbahçe put faith in Gökhan

Gençlerbirliği Oftaşspor right-back Gökhan Gönül has signed for Turkish champions Fenerbahçe SK as they prepare for European action.

The 22-year-old has agreed a four-year contract with the Istanbul side after impressing in his team's promotion campaign last season, scoring four goals in 26 games. He said: "I have come to a club which has won a lot of trophies in its history. I will give my best to deserve this vote of confidence," he said. Gökhan's arrival follows Fenerbahçe's acquisition of another promising youngster, Kayserispor attacker İlhan Parlak, last week. As Turkish champions, Fenerbahçe will start their UEFA Champions League campaign in the third qualifying round next month.
