Every coach has their own way of assembling their backroom staff and picking out leaders in a squad. In the second of a seven-part documentary series The Coaches, UEFA.com talks to the best in the business, including Sir Alex Ferguson, Arsène Wenger and Gérard Houllier. "When you arrive you don't want to have a complete revolution," said Houllier. "Everywhere I went, I always took an assistant with me, but sometimes I could have taken one or two additional people." Another manager of vast experience, Roy Hodgson, adopts a different approach, explaining: "I've tended to work with the people I've found at the club."
