Novo blow for Rangers

Nacho Novo has been ruled out of Rangers FC's remaining Group E fixtures, while VfB Stuttgart could also be depleted for the visit of the Scottish club.

Rangers FC striker Nacho Novo has been ruled out of the club's remaining fixtures in UEFA Champions League Group E after dislocating his shoulder in a friendly match against Middlesbrough FC.

Stuttgart problems
The 28-year-old has been told he is unlikely to be fit before Christmas and has been allowed to return to his native Spain while he recuperates. Novo will miss next Tuesday's game at VfB Stuttgart and the potentially-decisive visit of Olympique Lyonnais on 12 December. Stuttgart, who are guaranteed to finish bottom of the section, could be without Arthur Boka (torn ligaments) and Serdar Tasci (knee) for the visit of Rangers. Sami Khedira has also been training alone because of an ankle injury, although fellow midfielder Antonio da Silva is back in training for the first time since September after recovering from a torn muscle in his calf.
