United suffer Park injury woe

Manchester United FC's Korea Republic midfielder Park Ji Sung could miss the entire UEFA Champions League group stage after tearing ankle ligaments.

Manchester United FC midfielder Park Ji Sung has been ruled out for up to three months after tearing ankle ligaments.

Impending surgery
The Korea Republic international picked up the injury in Saturday's 1-0 Premiership win against Tottenham Hotspur FC after replacing Kieran Richardson with 20 minutes remaining. A scan today confirmed the extent of the damage and the 25-year-old will undergo an operation on Thursday. Park, who has made 37 league appearances for Sir Alex Ferguson's side since joining from PSV Eindhoven in July 2005, could be sidelined until the end of the year, excluding him from United's UEFA Champions League group stage campaign.
