Cassano cast out at Madrid

Antonio Cassano has been excluded from training with Real Madrid CF's first team as a punishment for a breach of club discipline involving coach Fabio Capello.

Antonio Cassano has been excluded from training with the Real Madrid CF first team as a punishment for a breach of club discipline involving coach Fabio Capello.

Official statement
The club issued a press release to say that the 24-year-old Italian international forward had been temporarily banned from training sessions and would be fined after incidents during their 3-1 Primera División win at CG Tarragona on Saturday. "An appropriate fine will be levied according to the club's internal regulations," said a club statement.

Roma connection
Cassano moved to the Santiago Bernabéu from AS Roma in January before Capello, who had previously worked with the striker at the Stadio Olimpico, took over at Madrid for the second time in the summer. The forward has made just one UEFA Champions League appearance this season and featured in four league games, scoring once. He was an unused substitute against Tarragona, along with Ronaldo.
