Nilsson picked up by Panathinaikos

Panathinaikos FC have secured the services of Sweden defender Mikael Nilsson on a three-year contract.

Greek side Panathinaikos FC have secured the services of Sweden defender Mikael Nilsson for a €700,000 fee from Southampton FC.

Short stay
The 27-year-old right-back has agreed a three-year contract, bringing to an end his one-season stay with English side Southampton. Having represented his country at UEFA EURO 2004™, Nilsson moved to the Premiership with high hopes only to play just 16 games as the club were relegated.

The former Horna BK and Halmstads BK player will now look the hold Panathinaikos into the UEFA Champions League group stage.
