Another blow for Trezeguet

Juventus FC forward David Trezeguet will miss the start of the season with a knee injury.

Juventus FC forward David Trezeguet will be out of action for a month with a knee problem.

Bad two days
The news compounds a bad couple of days for the French international who was yesterday left out of new France coach Jacques Santini's squad for next week's international friendly against Tunisia.

Severe pain
After missing out on Juventus's pre-season training programme for the last few days due to influenza Trezeguet was all set to resume full training however a severe pain in his right knee has put a block on his plans.

Physiotherapy needed
The Juventus medical staff have diagnosed the injury as tendonitis which was probably caused during a triangular friendly tournament with Milan AC and Internazionale FC in Trieste at the end of July. Last season's Serie A top scorer will have to undergo physiotherapy during the coming days which will rule him out of action for some 20 to 30 days.

Super Cup date
This means that Trezeguet will not be at Marcello Lippi's disposal for the Italian Super Cup against Parma AC on 25 August in Tripoli, Libya. He will also almost certainly be missing from Juventus' first game of the Serie A season against Piacenza FC the following week.
