UEFA Champions League/UEFA Europa League holders
The 2015/16 UEFA Champions League winners are assured of a place in next season's group stage. However, because finalists Real Madrid and Atlético are already qualified for the 2016/17 group stage thanks to their domestic-league finishing position, a vacancy is created. This has been filled by Sevilla, who would otherwise have entered in the play-off round.
