Experienced defender Patrice Evra has departed Manchester United FC to become Massimiliano Allegri's second signing as Juventus coach.
After luring Spanish striker Álvaro Morata from Real Madrid CF on Saturday, the Bianconeri have paid around €1.5m for Evra, who joins on a two-year deal. A further €500,000 will be payable to Manchester United should Juventus qualify for the 2015/16 UEFA Champions League.
"After a great deal of thought, I have decided the time is right for me to leave Manchester United," explained the French international. "It is the biggest decision of my career as this club is, and will always remain, in my heart."
The 33-year-old made 273 Premier League appearances, scoring seven goals, after swapping AS Monaco FC for United in January 2006. He won five Premier League titles, three English League Cups, the UEFA Champions League in 2008 and a FIFA Club World Cup.
