Italian champions Juventus have reached an agreement with Real Madrid CF to sign 21-year-old striker Álvaro Morata for a reported €20m fee.

A European champion at Under-19 and Under-21 level, the Spanish player signed a five-year contract in Turin today and said: "I chose Juventus because this is one of the most important clubs in Europe. I will try to help them win more titles. I am really looking forward to working here.

"It is really important for me to feel that the club has faith in me," added Morata, who scored ten goals in 37 Liga games for Madrid. "Some other clubs wanted me, but I wanted to come here. I know that Serie A is one of the most challenging leagues in Europe but I feel ready for it."

Morata is the Bianconeri's first signing under coach Massimiliano Allegri, who replaced Antonio Conte earlier this week. La Vecchia Signora, who won their third Scudetto in a row under Conte last season, will start their UEFA Champions League campaign in the group stage.
