UEFA Champions League holders FC Bayern München have tied down Brazilian international defender Dante until June 2017.
Dante has signed a one-year contract extension with the club, less than a week after Netherlands winger Arjen Robben also put pen to paper on renewed terms. Dante joined Bayern from VfL Borussia Mönchengladbach in summer 2012 and has since made more than 50 Bundesliga appearances for the club.
"Joining Bayern was the best decision of my life," said the 30-year-old. "Everything here is good: the club, the team, the trophies we win, the atmosphere. Bayern is the right club for me and that's why I'm delighted to be staying in Munich until at least 2017. I'm certain this team can enjoy a lot more fun and success in the years to come."
Josep Guardiola's team face Manchester United FC in the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals, with the first leg at Old Trafford on 1 April and the return eight days later.
