Stefan Kiessling has signed a two-year contract extension at Bayer 04 Leverkusen, keeping the in-form striker at the BayArena until June 2017.
The 29-year-old former 1. FC Nürnberg player, who won the Bundesliga golden boot for his 25-goal haul for Leverkusen last season, was already tied to the club until 2015 but now feels he could end his career with the Werkself. "I feel absolutely at home here," Kiessling said. "My heart belongs to this club."
Kiessling has scored 98 goals in 220 games since joining Leverkusen in 2006, but has failed to break back into the international set-up – the last of his six Germany caps coming as a substitute against England in the 2010 FIFA World Cup round of 16.
Leverkusen finished third in the Bundesliga last term and will enter the UEFA Champions League group stage.
