Eren Derdiyok has returned to Bayer 04 Leverkusen on loan from TSG 1899 Hoffenheim.
The Switzerland striker, 25, joined Hoffenheim for €5m from Leverkusen last year but has now returned to the club he represented between 2009 and 2012. With his arrival in attack, until 30 June 2014, Leverkusen have announced that Polish international Arkadiusz Milik is being loaned out to FC Augsburg for one year.
"Leverkusen are the right club for me to get back on track," explained Derdiyok. "I have always felt very comfortable here, still know most of the players and we are playing in the Champions League, which is a great challenge. I will do anything possible in order to help the club be successful this season."
His club face Manchester United FC, FC Shakhtar Donetsk and Real Sociedad de Fútbol in Group A of the UEFA Champions League group stage. Their first game is on 17 September at Old Trafford.
