UEFA.com has teamed up once more with Mike Hammond to bring out the 2011/12 edition of the European Football Yearbook – 1,200 packed pages of comprehensive information looking back at the 2010/11 UEFA and domestic competitions.
The European Football Yearbook 2011/12 has details of every major match played across the continent last season at club and international levels. The book is a must for statisticians, giving full details of each European league's premier division – with every club individually analysed. Facts and figures are complemented by a narrative seasonal review of football in each country.
"Thanks to UEFA's support the European Football Yearbook continues to go from strength to strength," said Hammond. "Even in an era dominated by the internet the Yearbook has held its own, providing a comprehensive and authoritative annual review of the European game that is regarded as a unique and indispensable work of reference by fans, coaches, administrators and journalists alike.
"Next year will mark the publication's silver jubilee and I am very proud to have been its editor since the inaugural edition in 1988." This is the fifth time that Hammond has produced it in association with UEFA.com. UEFA's involvement lends this invaluable publication added authenticity and credibility as a reference, while Josep Guardiola provides the foreword.
The FC Barcelona coach said: "In reading this book, you can see that many clubs, coaches and players have enjoyed success across Europe, and the European Football Yearbook does a fantastic job of recognising all of these achievements – as well as all of the near misses."
All the UEFA competitions contested in 2010/11 are covered, both at club and international levels, together with the major youth, women's and futsal events. Each country's season is reviewed in all its facets. These include the national team – with match-by-match appearances for every player – how the clubs performed on the European stage and league tables of the top two divisions.
Each top-flight club's results, goalscorers and player appearances are also covered along with – an addition to this year's edition – complete address directories for them, featuring communication details and media contacts.
Colour profiles spotlight the 100 most influential players to feature in European football in 2010/11. Details are also given of all 53 UEFA member associations, their national colours and change strip, and the clubs playing in the major UEFA club competitions – the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League – with logos, national maps and club locations supplied as an attractive graphic accompaniment.
The book will be available in all good bookshops and online at the end of September. To pre-order, either log on to Amazon or phone HarperCollins Distribution on +44 141 3063100 (quote ISBN 978-1847328472).
