Chelsea lose again, Atlético go level with Barcelona

Chelsea's domestic woes continued with a ninth Premier League defeat of the season but Atlético Madrid had plenty to smile about as they joined Barcelona at the Liga summit.

Leicester 2-1 Chelsea(Vardy 34, Riyad Mahrez 48; Rémy 77)
Champions Chelsea are just a point above the Premier League relegation zone after top-of-the-table Leicester resisted a late comeback after Loïc Rémy's strike. England's Jamie Vardy scored his 15th league goal of the season as Leicester inflicted a ninth top-flight defeat of the season on José Mourinho's men, who lost Eden Hazard to injury.

Atlético Madrid 2-1 Athletic (Saúl Ñíguez 45+2, Griezmann 67; Laporte 27)
Antoine Griezmann struck a superb winner from distance as Atlético came back from behind to draw level at the head of the Liga standings with Barcelona. The France forward made the difference halfway through the second half after a header from Saúl Ñíguez had cancelled out Aymeric Laporte's opener.

Aston Villa 0-2 Arsenal (Giroud 8pen, Ramsey 38)
Olivier Giroud became the seventh Arsenal player to reach 50 Premier League goals as the Gunners rounded off a successful week by going top in England – for 24 hours, at least. Meanwhile, Petr Čech equalled David James's record of 169 clean sheets in the top flight.

Barcelona 2-2 Deportivo (Messi 39, Rakitić 62; Lucas 77, Bergantiños 86)
The hosts let a 2-0 lead slip at Camp Nou, recording their third successive draw in all competitions. Lionel Messi scored a free-kick and Ivan Rakitić hit a second from even further out, but Deportivo struck twice on the break in the closing stages.

Bayern München 2-0 Ingolstadt (Lewandowski 65, Lahm 75)
Josep Guardiola's side put last weekend's loss at Mönchengladbach behind them, Robert Lewandowski getting his 15th Bundesliga goal of the season from a tight angle before Thomas Müller laid on the second for captain Philipp Lahm.

Setúbal 2-4 Benfica (Costa 59, Suk 88; Pizzi 35, Jonas 39, Mitroglou 54, Ricardo 79og)
The Eagles posted a fifth successive Portuguese Liga victory despite a late wobble in which the home side scored twice at the right end, and once into their own net. Jonas got his 11th league goal of the season, and Kostas Mitroglou struck for the second time in five days.

Sint-Truiden 0-2 Gent (Dejaegere 45, Van der Bruggen 90+1)
Gent's wonderful week ended with another triumph as Hein Vanhaezebrouck's charges recorded their third win in four league outings to move clear at the top in Belgium. Brecht Dejaegere and Hannes Van der Bruggen pounced at the end of either half as Gent established a three-point lead over Club Brugge, who lost.

Juventus 3-1 Fiorentina (Cuadrado 6, Mandžukić 80, Dybala 90+1; Iličić 3pen)
Juve continued their ominous return to form with a sixth straight Serie A victory, overcoming second-placed Fiorentina despite falling behind to an early penalty. Juan Cuadrado headed in against his old club moments later before the hosts completed the turnaround in the last ten minutes to move up to fourth.

Manchester City 2-1 Swansea (Bony 26, Touré 90+2; Gomis 90)
Yaya Touré's deflected shot undid manager-less Swansea, who had levelled late on through Bafétimbi Gomis. Wilfried Bony headed the opener against his old club, with Joe Hart putting in a man-of-the-match performance in the City goal.

Paris Saint-Germain 5-1 Lyon (Ibrahimović 11 77pen, Aurier 17, Cavani 61, Lucas 90+1; Ferri 24)
Laurent Blanc's side gave another stunning display of their superiority to extend their lead to 17 points in France, Zlatan Ibrahimović lighting the way and also burying a second-half penalty as he took his tally to 14 strikes in 13 Ligue 1 contests. On target against Shakhtar Donetsk in midweek, substitute Lucas rounded off the scoring late on.

PSV Eindhoven 1-1 Roda (Pröpper 74; Brenet 51og)
Tomi Juric's deflected effort put Roda ahead, but Davy Pröpper flicked in the equaliser from an Andres Guardado free-kick as PSV earned a draw on Saturday. However, PSV had plenty of chances to steal the three points in the closing minutes.

Villarreal 1-0 Real Madrid (Soldado 8)
Former Madrid forward Roberto Soldado did the damage early on to inflict a third defeat on the Merengues in their last five Liga fixtures. The 30-year-old struck with a predatory finish on a night when the likes of Karim Benzema, Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo all spurned chances to level.

Napoli 0-0 Roma
Missing the likes of Gervinho, Francesco Totti and Kevin Strootman through injury, the Giallorossi were left grateful to goalkeeper Wojciech Szczęsny for keeping Napoli at bay. The capital club are now without a win in six competitive matches and lie seven points behind Serie A pacesetters Internazionale.

Wolfsburg 1-1 Hamburg (Arnold 78; Müller 21)
Midfielder Maximilian Arnold's first Bundesliga goal since March earned a share of the spoils for the Wolves, who – for all of their UEFA Champions League success – are without a win in their last three domestic games.
