SSC Napoli coach Rafael Benítez says his side "paid" for their mistakes
The Spaniard is at a loss to explain what happened to his team after they took the lead

Aritz Aduriz, Athletic forward
We are very proud and satisfied because we have done a great job, not only today but also last season. A great part of this year depended on this match. We fought a lot last season and we are very proud. [The new Estadio de San Mamés] is an amazing stadium, but not only the stadium, also our supporters. We are very happy to be in the draw. Everyone in there is a very big club and it will be good to play against any of them. To be there is huge and we are going to enjoy it. [Listening to the UEFA Champions League anthem] is impressive. It is even nicer to listen to it here, in our new stadium.

Ernesto Valverde, Athletic coach
We faced a team that played in the Champion League last year and have lots of history behind them. Now we are going to play against the best clubs in Europe in the most prestigious competition in the world. It has been a historic night that everybody will remember.

I don't think both legs were very different. Over there we tried to control the game and we did that for most of the match, but they reacted at the end and got the equaliser. Here we played in a similar way. We knew they are dangerous on the counterattack and we were careful at the back. They have great players and they scored from almost their first chance. The dressing room was a total party after the match. We released all the tension we had accumulated since we knew we would play this tie. The players deserve it.

Rafael Benítez, Napoli coach
It is difficult to explain the match. We scored first and that was the hardest thing. Then we made two mistakes and we paid for it. It is not normal [for us] to make those mistakes. Now we have to try to improve for the future.

Our goal now is to think about the next match because we begin the Serie A season [on Sunday] and we will play for three important points. When we play in the Europa League we will think about that. Now we have to go match by match.

Athletic are a great team, motivated, and I think they can do well in the UEFA Champions League.
