Six-year stay
The 26-year-old has agreed a four-year contract with the Catalan club. Deco has spent the last six years with Porto, whom he inspired to the UEFA Cup in 2002/03 and also won three Portuguese league titles, three Portuguese Cups and one Portuguese Super Cup during his time at the club.

Fourth signing
Deco was born in Sao Bernardo in Brazil but obtained Portuguese nationality last year and was a regular in Luis Felipe Scolari's Portugal side as the hosts reached the final of UEFA EURO 2004™ only to lose 1-0 to Greece. He will become Barcelona's fourth new addition this summer following the signings of Ludovic Giuly, Henrik Larsson and Juliano Belletti.

Goalkeeper extension
Meanwhile, Barcelona have also extended the contract of goalkeeper Albert Jorquera by two years until June 2008. The 25-year-old made his first-team debut in January.
