FC Porto have announced that last season's UEFA Europa League top scorer Falcao has extended his contract by two years, committing to the Dragons until 2015.
The 25-year-old is currently in Argentina, representing Colombia at the Copa América, but has agreed a new deal to replace his existing terms which were due to expire in June 2013.
Falcao hit 17 goals in the 2010/11 UEFA Europa League – the highest number scored in any UEFA Cup or UEFA Europa League season, surpassing Jürgen Klinsmann's 1995/96 record of 15 – including the winner in the final against SC Braga. The striker has registered 41 times in 50 Liga matches since joining Porto from CA River Plate in summer 2009.
Portuguese double winners Porto will enter the UEFA Champions League in the group stage, but first meet FC Barcelona in the UEFA Super Cup on Friday 26 August.
