FC Barcelona have become the fifth club to lift the European Cup on five occasions following their 3-1 victory against Juventus in the 60th final in Berlin, and they have also drawn alongside Real Madrid CF with four wins in the UEFA Champions League era.
Both Barcelona and Juventus were contesting their eighth European Cup final, but victory moved the Blaugrana onto five successes, level with FC Bayern München and Liverpool FC and behind only AC Milan and record holders Real Madrid CF. Juve set a more unwelcome benchmark, meanwhile, becoming the first team to lose six finals after previously standing equal with Bayern and SL Benfica on five.
Over the 23 UEFA Champions League seasons, Barcelona are now level with Madrid on four triumphs apiece. Both Barça and Juve were disputing their fifth post-1992/93 decider, behind just Milan in that category. The Turin side have now lost a record four, one more than Milan and Bayern.
