Barcelona have joined an elite group of clubs allowed to wear a 'badge of honour' on their shirts.
The honour has been bestowed on Barça as a result of them last season winning their fifth European Cup, an achievement which has formed the theme of the current week in Monaco, culminating in the draws for the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League group stages.
The UEFA Champions League group stage draw is at 17.45CET on Thursday
Representatives from the first four Barcelona sides to win Europe's premier club competition will be on hand to help conduct the draw: Andoni Zubizarreta (1992), Juliano Belletti (2006), Carles Puyol (2009) and Éric Abidal (2011). There will also be a special tribute to their achievement during the ceremony.
Clubs can earn the badge of honour by …
Winning five or more European Cups: Real Madrid (10), AC Milan (7), Barcelona (5), Bayern München (5) and Liverpool (5)
Winning the European Cup at least three times in a row: Ajax (also applies to Bayern and Madrid)
The badge itself, provided by the UEFA administration and added to the left sleeve of the shirt, denotes an image of the European Cup. Usually inscribed inside is the number of times that club have won the trophy.
