Chelsea FC have continued to strengthen their squad with the acquisition of Willian from FC Anji Makhachkala for a reported fee of €35m.
The 25-year-old Brazil forward is expected to sign a four-year contract and is the latest piece in the jigsaw for Chelsea coach José Mourinho, who returned to the Stamford Bridge hotseat this summer. Willian only joined Anji in February, featuring seven times in the league at the end of last season and making four appearances this term.
Willian is one of a number of players to have left Anji in recent weeks with Yuri Zhirkov, Igor Denisov and Aleksandr Kokorin joining FC Dinamo Moskva, Lassana Diarra moving to FC Lokomotiv Moskva and Oleg Shatov signing for FC Zenit.
Chelsea take on FC Bayern München in the UEFA Super Cup at the Stadion Eden in Prague on Friday 30 August. They will discover their UEFA Champions League group stage opponents the day before, with the draw held in Monaco at 17.45CET.
