FC Bayern München midfielder Thomas Müller has signed a contract extension that will keep him at the club until June 2017.
The 23-year-old German international is a one-club man, having progressed through the ranks at Bayern, and has scored 41 goals in 122 Bundesliga appearances since his league debut in August 2008. Müller, who has represented his country 38 times and found the net on ten occasions, also grabbed the opening goal in last season's UEFA Champions League final but could not prevent his side losing to Chelsea FC on penalties.
"Thomas Müller is a homegrown FC Bayern player," said Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge. "He was trained here and has developed into a very important player. We're very happy to have extended his contract by two years. It's further proof of how much Thomas Müller is a part of Bayern."
Bayern qualified for the round of 16 as Group F winners and will find out their opponents in tomorrow's draw.
