Champions League relief
The 23-year-old put pen to paper after Tuesday's UEFA Champions League third qualifying round second leg against PFC CSKA Sofia, which Rafael Benítez's side lost 1-0 to go through 3-2 on aggregate to the competition's group stage. His previous deal was due to expire at the end of the season.
Liverpool breakthrough
The homegrown Warnock, who had loan spells with Bradford City AFC and Coventry City FC, made the first-team breakthrough at Liverpool last term, appearing in 19 Premiership matches, starting eleven, and also featuring four times in the victorious Champions League campaign. He has taken advantage of an injury to Djimi Traoré to win a regular role on the left of defence this season.
