Title ambition
The 31-year-old Finnish international pledged his future to the European champions until 2008, and has set his sights on winning the English title while at Anfield. "I have won every single medal at the club apart from the Premiership and it would be very nice if I could win that within the next three years.
'No hesitation'
"We have been talking for a few weeks and I had no hesitation in committing my future," he added. Hyypiä cost Liverpool €4.8m from Dutch club Willem II in 1999 and helped them to the 2001 UEFA Cup before playing his part in last May's Champions League triumph. Liverpool must overcome CSKA, starting with tonight’s third qualifying round first leg in Bulgaria, to ensure a return to the group stage.
